Thank you for entering!
Welcome back returning clubs and “Hello!” to all who are attending their first CanAm!! We are very pleased to see that our entries are very similar to 2023.
The Numbers:
- Friday – 70 Teams 3 Rings; 146 Races
- Saturday – 181 Teams 6 Rings; About 376 Races
- Sunday – 180 Teams 6 Rings: About 350 Races in the main rings
Once again we will be in the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion. While this isn’t our first choice of buildings, we have ideas to make the space work better for us. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we squeeze into the crating areas. We’ve made a few adjustments to the layout after seeing the building in action last year.
Small Clubs…Do you want more crating space?
Do you want a more spacious crating space? Want a quieter, more secluded area to crate at CanAm? We are looking for Clubs with 3 or fewer teams to move to the upper mezzanine in the Fall Creek Pavilion. Volunteers will be given a larger space than on the main floor. Please email Leerie Jenkins (leerie.jenkins@gmail.com) asap if you are willing to elevate your CanAm experience!
Sorry bigger clubs, we need you on the main floor to minimize ring conflicts. Space is limited!
Mezzanine Crating Mini FAQ
- Quieter location and you’ll be given more space than the main level
- Great access to lots of grass out the main upstairs doors
- Convenient same level bathrooms for humans
- Access to the main level via stairs, elevator or walking in the alley outside.
- Mezzanine level golf cart parking with easy access
- Contact Leerie for more info and a map.
Volunteers:
We are looking for a few more people to say “Hey, I’ll help at THE largest Flyball tournament this year!”
We have a little room for help during setup (Thursday & Friday), teardown (Sunday), and racing (Sunday). Not all setup/teardown jobs are physically taxing.
Please fill out the google form found here to let us know you are interested.
We’ll make it worth your while (cha-ching).
Free Parking Pass anyone? That’s right, you can earn a free parking pass by committing to relieve a ring worker for a day. They’ll need two 15 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch. Contact Lynda Mantler at flyballfanatic@shaw.ca.
CanAm Apparel:
The deadline to order your CanAm apparel and 40th Anniversary apparel is 9/22/24 – https://mylogoshop.com/nafacanam/
Seeding:
Seeding lists can be found here. Most are currently proposed, and will be noted as approved once final approval is obtained. You’ll notice on Sunday a list of entries is shown. Your fastest time on Saturday (Regular and Multibreed classes) will be used as your seed time on Sunday. Seeding lists will also be found on the NAFACanAm.com website soon.
Incorrect information you happen to find in the seeding should be brought to my attention IMMEDIATELY (flyballsanc@yahoo.com) so it can be verified and corrected as needed.
Teams with duplicate seed times were arranged in a random order by utilizing an online list randomizer prior to seeding.
We reserve the right to make corrections to seeding.
Scheduling:
If your club is helping another club on Saturday (with handlers, box loaders, boxes, etc), please contact Dale Smith dgsfcr@gmail.com by end of day 9/18/24. We can’t promise to accommodate every need, but we’ll do our best to consider your situation when creating Saturday’s schedule. Clubs will still have the option to notify the Pitboss table of conflicts during racing, and we’ll do what we can. We’ll have something at the scoring table on Saturday to let us know who you’re helping for Sunday.
Did you know?: You can sponsor a division for a mere $30? Visit the NafaCanAm website sponsors page and sign up to sponsor a division here.
Lineups:
New this year, easy online lineup submission, with special thanks to Steve Branin. It’s in the final testing stage and seems pretty slick, and easy to use. Once available, I’ll email club contacts the link with instructions on how to use it. If all goes well, you’ll be able to submit your lineups electronically much closer to check in and still have them printed. All clubs are still required to review/approve lineups in the morning, a half hour before racing begins.
Share it:
Please share this information with your teammates. If they’d like to be on the email list, have them send a request to Karen at flyballsanc@yahoo.com.
If you have questions, please feel free to contact me. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can and will forward your question to the appropriate person if I don’t have an answer.
See you in October!
-Karen O.
